Arsenal FC

The next club I’m going to discuss is Arsenal. Arsenal is a English football club, play in the Premier League. They are thirteen times English champion, but have never won the Champions League in their history. Arsenals head sponsor is Emirates. Emirates is a airline from the United Arabic Emirates. The sponsor deal was signed in 2004, and will end in 2021. As you can see that is a very long period of time. Emirates is not only the shirt sponsor of Arsenal, the stadium of Arsenal, the Emirates Stadium, also carries the name of the sponsor. This all costs Emirates an estimated 8 million pounds a year. But that is nothing for a big company from a wealthy oil country like Emirates. They use their sponsorship to attach their name to a big football club, to promote their name in Europe. To reach this goal, they don’t only sponsor Arsenal, but they also sponsor HSV from Germany and AC Milan from Italy. Quite recently they also sponsored Chelsea FC, but that deal is terminated.
If I mention Arsenal, I should also mention Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman has been the manager of Arsenal since 1996. He is kind of mister Arsenal. Only, Arsenal has one big problem. They are worldwide known about their good football, but they don’t win prices anymore. So that’s what they are trying to reach again right now. They want to be the champion of England again. And I think they are definitely capable of doing that.
