Bayern Munich, a rising star

Next club I’m going to type about is FC Bayern Munich. They are 20 times German champion, and therefore they have four stars on their shirt. Because in Germany, unlike Holland for example, you get a star on your shirt with every 5 Bundesliga titles you win. Bayern Munich is one of the four clubs in the world who have won all European prices. Last year they were close to winning another big European price, but they lost the final of the UEFA Champions League against Internazionale. What is notable about the upswing of FC Bayern Munich since 1965, is that it coincides with the upswing of Franz Beckenbauer, one of Bayerns best and most famous players ever. He has also been president of the club from 1994 until 2009. After he quit, Uli Hoeness became the new president of Bayern Munich. Bayern is co-owned by Adidas and Audi. They both own about 9 % of the shares of Bayern Munich. They only difference about the sponsorships, is that Adidas bought their share in 2002 for about 77 million Euros, and that Audi had to pay more money. They bought their share in 2009 for an amount of 90 million Euros. Bayern is going to use this money to pay off the loan on their new stadium, the Allianz Arena quicker than planned. There is nothing wrong with the finances of the club. According to numbers Deloitte published in 2009, Bayern is the fourth richest club generating revalues of 289.5 million Euros.
